The 6th Meeting of the Working Group to Support the Establishment of the SIOFA VMS (VMSWG06) is scheduled to take place on April 2, 2025, online. This meeting follows ongoing discussions regarding the implementation of a Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) under the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA).

The main agenda items will include:

  • Reviewing the revised draft Terms of Reference (ToR) for the Working Group.

  • Discussing potential amendments to current CMMs and policies to support the entry into operation of the SIOFA VMS

As agreed at the last meeting, the VMSWG06 will be held from 07:00hrs to 10:00hrs UTC
