The SIOFA-MOP project aims to support the organisation of the 11th Compliance Committee and the 14th Meeting of the Parties of the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA), held back‑to‑back in Brussels 1-2 and 5-9 July 2027.
During this period, the European Union holds the rotating chairpersonship of SIOFA, making the success of these meetings a strategic priority.
The project will cover venue hire, IT and audiovisual infrastructure (including remote participation contingency in case of travel disruption), a local meeting planner, host/esses, catering, and a professional rapporteur who will produce a draft report for approval by the end of the meetings and a final report within one week.
The grant will be implemented by the SIOFA Secretariat through subcontracting, with an EU contribution rate of 80% of eligible costs. The project is expected to last 11 months. It directly supports EU leadership in regional fisheries governance and complements previous EU‑funded actions in SIOFA.
